Terracotta Statuettes from the Collection of the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan
Abstract
This study investigates the acquisition and significance of terracotta statuettes from ancient and medieval periods at the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan. Addressing a gap in the literature regarding the chronology and cultural relevance of these artifacts, the research employs historical-comparative analysis to trace the collection's formation and the representation of deities like Anahita. Findings reveal the statuettes’ artistic, religious, and cultural roles, highlighting their local production and association with Zoroastrianism. These insights have implications for future museum curation strategies and the broader understanding of Central Asian material culture.
